Pros
- Good performance
- Support for ray tracing and DLSS
- Good price-performance ratio
Cons
- Slightly loud fan
In the turbulent graphics card market, models with a good price-performance ratio are currently a rarity. One of the few exceptions is Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050, which puts modern features like ray tracing and DLSS on an affordable footing. MSI’s variant of the RTX 3050 goes by the name Ventus 2X 8G OC. The compact card with two fans is sufficient for enjoying current games in Full HD resolution and has enough graphics memory. Ray tracing effects can be added but usually only run smoothly with DLSS supersampling activated. The fan keeps the card at a safe temperature but roars audibly under constant load. For frugal gamers, the card is a good choice also because of the not-too-high power consumption.
