Cons

  • Software updates unlikely over complete product lifetime

The Philips 65OLED807 – the 65-inch (165 cm) version of the Philips 48OLED807 we tested – has all the best features of a TV: an Ultra HD OLED panel, the sixth generation Philips P5 processor, a brightness sensor combined with Ambient Intelligence mode, a 70W 2.1 audio system, HDMI 2.1 4K/120 Hz VRR and of course Philips’ Ambilight system.

The improved OLED 120 Hz display installed here will captivate you immediately with its reference-class reproduction quality and a diagonal measurement of 164 centimetres. But can’t you get such an Ultra HD top-class TV, perhaps even with Android 11 as SmartTV software, including deeply integrated Google Assistant voice control, for less? Hardly at this level and with this good equipment. Praiseworthy, for example, is the current image signal processing, which is at the forefront in optimising any home cinema content and with super-fluid “Variable Refresh Rate” gaming – in which new AI algorithms play a significant role. Among other things, Dolby Vision is supported, HDR10+ Adaptive even including sensor-detected room brightness data. The “Dolby Atmos”-compatible 2.1-channel audio system is also available with AI, and the integrated sound output is astonishingly powerful. The “Ambilight+Hue” ambient light that discreetly illuminates the background of the set is very charming and even prettier in this four-sided version.

CONCLUSION

Le Philips 65OLED807 – version 65 pouces (140 cm) du Philips 48OLED807 que nous avons testé – est un très bon téléviseur Oled, bénéficiant d’une excellente qualité d’image et d’une ergonomie sans faille. One can simply reproach it for the lack of an audio system, but it has non-negligible features, such as its Philips P5 processor, which performs very well, its rotating screen and its Ambilight system, which always has a small effect.
