The Fujifilm Instax Square Link serves as a portable instant printer, for example, to be able to put a picture on photo paper from your smartphone while on the go. This is done via the Square Link app, in which you can also edit your photos directly. The quality of the printouts, on the other hand, is somewhat mixed: with very good sharpness, the first impression is quite good, but when you look at the colours, deviations become visible quite quickly. Faces and skin tones in particular appear somewhat dull and faded.According to a practical test, a printout takes almost four minutes to be fully developed - this is comparatively long and is also considerably longer than the 90 seconds advertised by the manufacturer. Although the printer is not particularly large, its cushion shape and weight make it look clunky. The only control button is used to print the last image on paper again without any configuration. Speaking of paper: the Instax Square Link uses Fujifilm's "Square film" paper, which is available in different versions, for example for monochrome photos or with coloured frames. For around £20, 20 sheets are available - whether you want to spend around one pound per photo is up to you. In any case, the photo paper of such instant printers is rarely cheap.
