How We Review

Every review on this site is built from documented, verifiable evidence: published technical measurements, complete product test data, official manufacturer specifications and recorded retailer listings. Our editors research that evidence, verify the facts that matter to UK buyers, and write every word themselves in plain British English.

We never invent test results, hands-on anecdotes or buyer experiences. If the evidence available on a product cannot support a substantial, useful review, we do not publish one — we would rather have no page than a padded one.

A score appears on a review only when the underlying evidence includes a directly compatible editorial score on the same 0–5 scale. We never convert scores from other scales, never infer a number from prose, and never fill a gap with a default.

Some of our reviews are intentionally unrated. That is not an oversight — it means the evidence behind that page did not include a compatible published score, and we chose honesty over decoration.

Every price we show is checked against the retailer's live listing, with the exact model code and variant confirmed — not a lookalike, not a different storage or colour option, and never a renewed or refurbished unit presented as new. We keep a record of each check: the listing, the observed price and the date.

• Prices that have not been re-verified recently are hidden automatically rather than shown stale.
• Where no reliable current offer exists, we say so instead of quoting a number.
• Products sold only through unfamiliar marketplace sellers are flagged, not silently linked.

Products change, prices move and rankings shift. When we update a page we re-verify its facts against current evidence, preserve the original publication date, and correct mistakes openly rather than quietly deleting them. Reviews of discontinued products are kept honest: they say so, and stop quoting prices.
