HyperX HX-HSCOS-GM/WW Cloud Orbit S

Pros

  • Connects via USB-A, USB-C or 3.5 mm
  • Very accurate 3D mode
  • Head-tracking function for VR gamers

Cons

  • Very expensive

HyperX wants to play in the top league and launches the Cloud Orbit S, a gaming headset that amazes with its technology alone: it uses planar magnetic drivers that require an additional battery – even though the headset itself is wired. This membrane design ensures very differentiated bass and an overall immaculate sound. In combination with the 3D mode, you get a virtual surround headset that enables the exact localisation of sounds – a clear advantage in competitive gaming. The manufacturer allows you to connect in three different ways: USB-A, USB-C or 3.5 mm jack – all in the form of a detachable cable in each case.

If you are looking for a headset for VR gaming, the Cloud Orbit S is also suitable for this, thanks to its head-tracking function. This is because you can freeze the audio source in its spatial orientation so that turning your head ensures that the system translates these movements realistically – as if you were sitting in front of the source. You can flexibly adjust the headband. Thanks to memory foam padding, the headset is very comfortable, even for longer sessions.
