Pros

  • Perfect factory calibratio
  • Infinite contrast of OLED technology
  • Responsive
  • Three position stand
  • Multi-purpose Google TV system.
  • HDMI 2.1 compatibility (4K 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM)

Cons

  • High power consumptio
  • Peak brightness is not the best
The Sony Bravia XR-77A80K - the 77-inch (165cm) version of the Sony Bravia XR-55A80K - is a Japanese manufacturer's more affordable OLED TV. Yet it remembers the essentials of Sony's technology, such as the XR Cognitive processor, Acoustic Surface audio system and Bravia Core high-quality streaming application.A SmartTV giant with updated OLED technology, sensational "XR Triluminos Pro" colours, improved Android SmartTV operating system. Not overpriced compared to its visual quality and ancillary luxury. The super-bright display comes with a diagonal screen size of 195 centimetres, which discreetly overtaxes normal-sized households - and delights those for whom it fits. The signal processing is based on the computing resources of the Cognitive Processor XR, whose development was modelled on human perception processing. AI logic and sensors to detect the conditions at the installation site, optionally even a Bravia camera, allow "fine-tuning" of colours, contrasts, and HDR implementations such as those of dynamic Dolby Vision. Gaming displays also benefit from ALLM and VRR. Cleverly integrated into the panel are elements of the "Dolby Atmos" sound output-compatible audio system - the good 3D luxury surround sound is, however, somewhat undersized.

CONCLUSIO

The Sony Bravia XR-77A80K - the 77-inch version of the Sony Bravia XR-55A80K that we tested - is an excellent OLED TV. It delivers a perfectly calibrated picture - a trademark of the Japanese brand - and benefits from a quality audio system as well as little extras such as the three positions for the feet or the Bravia Core high-quality streaming system. However, we regret that the peak brightness is lower than the competition and that the power consumption is a bit high. The overall experience is still perfect for this TV set, which is suitable for movie and series fans and gamers.

Samsung S90F Review: Best OLED TV Value for the Money
4.6/5
Televisions

The Samsung S90F delivers impressive picture quality for the money with its QD-OLED technology. As the successor to the best-selling S90D, it achieves a remarkable 50% brightness increase to 1,444 cd/m², making it suitable for both dark rooms and daylight viewing. With excellent color accuracy, perfect blacks, outstanding upscaling, and gaming-ready specs (9.3ms input lag, 120Hz), this 65-inch model offers one of the best overall packages in its price class. While the plastic stand feels less premium and the glossy screen isn't as glare-resistant as the S95F's matte display, the S90F proves there's rarely a better OLED TV for the money.

4.5/5
Televisions

The Samsung 98QN90F delivers a truly cinematic experience with its massive 249cm (98-inch) screen and cutting-edge Mini-LED technology. This 2025 flagship TV combines exceptional brightness (2,630 cd/m²) with outstanding anti-glare technology that reflects just 8% of ambient light - making it perfect for bright living rooms and conservatories. With 165Hz support, 8.4ms input lag, and comprehensive gaming features, it's equally impressive for gaming as it is for movies. The near-perfect colour accuracy, excellent upscaling, and Samsung Vision AI make this one of the most impressive large-screen TVs available. Whilst the price is substantial and OLED still offers superior blacks, the 98QN90F is the ultimate choice for those wanting the largest possible premium viewing experience.
