Honor MagicPad4: Upper-Class Tablet With a Large Battery
Verdict (25 March 2026)
The Honor MagicPad4 shows strong qualities as an upper-class tablet in testing. Thanks to its low weight, it convinces in handling despite the 12.3-inch format. In addition, the slim housing contains both a very fast processor and a large battery. Performance is excellent. The OLED display also impresses. The equipment is modern, but Honor does not offer a tablet version with mobile connectivity. The camera lacks an optical image stabiliser, but image quality is nevertheless good.

Dimensions and Weight
The tablet measures 273.4 x 178.8 x 4.8 mm and weighs 455 grams.

Honor MagicPad4 in Testing: Lots of Power at Low Weight
The Honor MagicPad4 is a particularly thin and also quite light tablet. The hardware installed is nevertheless top-class. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 — the current top-tier processor in the Android segment — provides peak performance. The tablet handles every situation excellently with this, whether with performance-hungry apps or graphically intensive mobile games.
Battery Capacity
In addition, the slim housing also contains a large battery with 10,100 mAh capacity. This means the Honor MagicPad4 does not run out of breath quickly.
Battery Runtime in Testing
In pure video playback, the runtime reaches over 12 hours; the tablet handles more complex workloads for around 10.5 hours. These are good results, even if competitors with comparable batteries sometimes squeeze out 2-4 hours more — due to different hardware or better optimisation.
Charging Time
Nevertheless, runtime is excellent and charging the battery is reasonably fast. About 1.5 hours are needed for a full charge; half an hour at the mains supplies enough energy for nearly 5 hours of operation. A power supply is not included in the scope of delivery.
A Beautiful Display for Video Streaming
The OLED display also performs very well. It offers a sharp image with rich colours on its 12.3-inch diagonal.
Display Brightness
The maximum display brightness reaches just under 800 cd/m² (nits) in testing. Even though many top devices are now in the four-digit nits range, this is still a flawless value.
High Refresh Rate
In addition, there is 165 Hz for the refresh rate, but this only really plays a role in fast-paced games — for normal use, 120 Hz is completely sufficient.
IMAX Enhanced and Audio
Honor advertises with "IMAX Enhanced" certification for 4K home cinema systems. However, since the tablet's OLED display cannot display Ultra HD resolution (it is limited to 3,000 x 1,920 pixels) and the eight stereo speakers also produce a good but not soundbar-level sound, you will probably not notice much of this. The image presentation when streaming videos convinces regardless.
Strong Equipment, but Without Mobile Connectivity
The equipment of the Honor MagicPad4 brings modern standards. There is Wi-Fi 7 for the wireless network connection as well as Bluetooth 6 for headphones and other peripheral devices. The USB-C interface also has fast data transfer.
Stylus Support
A stylus is supported. In the "Basic Edition", Honor does not include this; in the more expensive variants it does.
Build and Protection
The tablet has no official dust and water protection according to IP class, nor does it have a memory card slot.
User Interface and PC Mode
The user interface offers a PC mode but also works well with iPhones. There are also AI applications. Honor promises software updates for six years — until 2032.
Camera Quality Detail
The 13 MP main camera on the back has overall good image quality, but does not reach top tablets. An optical image stabiliser is missing. The 8.3 MP front camera is slightly better in quality. Both cameras can record video in 4K resolution.
Storage Variants
The tablet is offered in Germany as a standard model with 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM, and as an "Ultra Edition" with 512 GB storage plus 16 GB RAM. The Standard Edition was the model in testing. There is no option for mobile connectivity via eSIM at all — the tablet is restricted to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Pricing
Until 31 March 2026, the pre-sale of the Honor MagicPad4 ran with cheaper prices. The "Basic Edition" was thus available from around 600 euros, and the "Ultra Edition" with 512 GB storage from around 800 euros. After the pre-sale, the price will probably rise somewhat. The current price-performance ratio is fair.
How Tablets Are Tested
The independent test centre evaluates tablets across the categories of equipment, operation, and battery. The PDF over Wi-Fi benchmark indicates the result of the performance measurement. The tablet must load a standardised PDF document of around 5 megabytes via Wi-Fi and display it in the browser. The time needed is measured in seconds. This shows how powerful the tablet's processor is.
Comparison Notes From the Tablet Test Field
In a wider comparison drawing on 71 tested products, the Honor MagicPad4 sits alongside the test winner (Apple iPad Pro 11", 2025), the value pick (Honor Pad 10), the best Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra), and the best tablet under 500 euros (Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+).
iPad Pro 11" (2025)
The iPad Pro 11-inch (2025) is a top device among tablets. The OLED display with 11-inch diagonal is excellent. Contrasts, brightness, and colours convince. The Apple M5 processor is in the tablet, which offers outstanding performance for apps, games, and AI calculations. Battery life is excellent — in everyday use, around 13.5 hours of continuous operation are possible. The equipment is modern and the camera image quality is also pleasing. The tablet is thin and quite light for its size. In addition to the 11-inch model, the iPad Pro is also available in the 13-inch version. Both sizes achieve a similarly outstanding rating.
Honor Pad 10
The large display offers 12.1 inches of working area. Colours and sharpness make watching films or series really enjoyable. Thanks to 120 Hertz, the presentation appears particularly smooth. Even when scrolling, texts remain easy to read. The mid-range processor installed handles several apps simultaneously. Only with very demanding applications does it reach its limits. Anyone who values security must be content with the surface-level face recognition; there is no fingerprint sensor. The charging speed via USB-C cable is acceptable. In 30 minutes, about a third of the battery is full again. A power supply is not included. The housing makes a robust impression. It sits comfortably in the hand, although the Pad 10 is rather large. Six speakers provide a nice listening experience. It looks like a dual camera, but in fact the eight-megapixel main camera is only supported by a flash. The cameras provide usable results in daylight. In poor lighting conditions, the image quality drops noticeably.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra
The huge OLED display of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra measures 14.6 inches and convinces with a sharp and smooth 120-Hertz presentation. With a brightness of over 1,200 cd/m², the screen also remains very legible outdoors; with dark content, the good anti-reflection coating scores points. The housing is very thin at only 5.1 millimetres, which makes the tablet appear modern and elegant despite its size. However, the Tab also weighs around 695 grams. The front camera allows attractive videos in resolutions up to 4K. Ideal for video calls, although autofocus is missing. The back of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra also offers good image quality at 13 megapixels, although it does not match smartphones. The ultrawide lens allows wider angles. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ provides peak performance that easily handles even demanding apps and games. Twelve GB of RAM allows smooth multitasking.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ provides the best tablet experience under 500 euros, with solid performance, good battery life, and a sharp display.
