With the BeoSound Stage, the manufacturer Bang & Olufsen brings its first stand-alone soundbar to the market. Behind the front panel are 11 drivers, 4 arranged at a 45-degree angle to produce Dolby Atmos sound. Due to the speaker arrangement, it is possible to position the soundbar facing upward in front of the TV and mount it on the wall. The sound differences are marginal, but according to the manufacturer, voices come across a bit clearer when mounted on the wall. The coections are located in a recess in the centre of the rear or underside. In addition to the HDMI output for the TV coection, there is an HDMI input that can be used to coect a Blu-ray player, for example. With the Ethernet input, you send the bar to the Internet, and via the LAN output, you can even pass the coection on to the TV set. Thanks to WLAN, the soundbar also goes wirelessly into the network. Then there are many other options, such as integration into a multi-room system or music streaming from Apple devices (AirPlay, AirPlay 2). Incidentally, music can also be streamed via Bluetooth. The design is elegant in all three versions, but the oak wood comes at a much higher price.

Harman Kardon SoundSticks 5 Wi-Fi Review: A Design Icon That Finally Streams Properly
4.4/5
Speakers

The SoundSticks 5 Wi-Fi takes one of audio design's most recognisable silhouettes and turns it into a genuinely modern streaming system. The look still matters, but the bigger story is the sound: a refined three-way presentation, strong low-end authority and broad support for AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Roon Ready. The lack of an integrated voice assistant, wired satellite connections and the omission of HDMI ARC on this variant keep it from being the easiest all-rounder, but it absolutely earns its premium position.
