The Dell S2422HG is a reasonably affordable gaming monitor with a clear focus on high speed. With 165 Hz, the screen clocks even a little faster than the regular 144 Hz competition, which makes for even smoother and, at the same time, sharper movements. Thanks to Full HD, the demands on your graphics card are not too high either. If your frame rate ever fluctuates in a game, FreeSync kicks in to minimise any resulting tearing effects – provided you have an AMD graphics card. Beyond that, the Dell is really well equipped for its price:
- HDMI is on board twice in addition to a single DisplayPort connection.
- The stand is height-adjustable.
- The brightness is comparatively high.
However, the display curvature could be better: on 24 inches, it makes little sense since immersion effects from curved displays are usually only noticeable on large screen diagonals. For the low purchase price, however, this can be accepted with confidence.
