Best USB-C Docking Stations 2026: 29 Models Compared

USB-C docking stations restore storage, monitor, Ethernet, card and audio connections to laptops with few sockets, while potentially carrying charging power through the same computer cable. This guide retains all five recommendations and 24 named also-tested docks from a recorded field of 34 models.

What follows is recorded testing, translated. Nobody at Truthful Reviews has used any of these docks.

What matters when choosing a USB-C dock

USB-C describes the connector, not its capabilities. Depending on the computer, it may carry power, data or DisplayPort video, with data rates from 480 Mbps through 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps. Thunderbolt and USB4 provide more bandwidth only with a matching host. A dock cannot raise the computer's external-display limit.

A basic hub generally adds USB sockets; a dock also handles video and laptop charging. Compact docks often need a separate compatible supply and cable, and their charging input ordinarily carries no data. Choose the needed sockets, then check host support, resolution, refresh rate and charging demand.

How the docks were assessed

Each dock spent several days connected to a Thunderbolt 3 laptop. A USB power tester measured charging output. DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA were checked with a 21:9 144 Hz ultrawide, a Full HD 60 Hz monitor and a 4K 60 Hz television. CrystalDiskMark 8 and a 20 Gbps external SSD checked USB throughput; card-reader speed, reliability, construction, dimensions and cable length also counted.

The recommendations

Best for most people — Anker 565 A8388

The Anker 565 A8388 has the most balanced mix: one USB-A and one USB-C data port at 10 Gbps, two USB-A 2.0 sockets, SD and microSD readers, Gigabit Ethernet and 3.5 mm audio. HDMI and DisplayPort each support up to 4K at 60 Hz. Its 100 W Power Delivery input passes up to 85 W to a laptop.

The plastic case measures 13.7 × 5.7 × 1.5 cm and weighs 140 g. Its braided 17 cm cable just reached the 14.5 cm-high test port, making tall stands its main limitation. Construction was among the field's best, and a storage pouch was included.

Also good — Baseus 10-in-1 Hub

The Baseus 10-in-1 Hub matches the winner with one USB-A and one USB-C port at 10 Gbps, two USB 2.0 sockets and both card formats; its UHS-II-labelled readers are rated at 104 Mbps. A 100 W input passes up to 85 W to the computer.

There is no DisplayPort or audio, but HDMI 2.1 supports 4K at 120 Hz with sufficient host bandwidth, while HDMI 2.0 handles 4K at 60 Hz. The aluminium-and-plastic body is 14.5 × 5.4 × 1.6 cm, 132 g, with a flexible 19.5 cm cable and screen-lock button.

Luxury pick — Ugreen Revodok Max 213

The Ugreen Revodok Max 213 is the high-bandwidth recommendation. Three Thunderbolt 4 sockets provide 40 Gbps, with one used by the laptop, and compatible displays reach 8K at 30 Hz. The rear adds DisplayPort 1.4, 2.5 Gbps Ethernet and two 5 Gbps USB-A ports; the front has two USB-A and one USB-C at 10 Gbps, audio and UHS-II card readers rated up to 312 Mbps.

The included supply enables 90 W laptop charging. Its 14.9 × 9.6 × 5.2 cm, 775 g aluminium body can stand vertically. There is an on/off switch but no HDMI; second and third monitors need USB-C.

Dock and laptop stand — Hama 200139

The Hama 200139 combines a dock with a folding aluminium stand for laptops up to 16 inches. Folded, it is 2.5 cm high, and a 14-inch test laptop stood steadily; a 17-inch machine fitted, but the fixed cable could not reach.

The front has USB-A and two USB-C ports at 10 Gbps, USB 2.0 and audio; each side adds USB 2.0. Behind are Gigabit Ethernet, two HDMI 2.0 outputs and DisplayPort 1.4, each supporting 4K at 60 Hz. A 100 W input passes up to 90 W, using a separate supply.

For older displays — Ugreen 80133

The Ugreen 80133 is the legacy-display recommendation. Its threaded VGA output worked at 1,920 × 1,080 pixels; HDMI 1.4 reaches 4K at 30 Hz. Three USB-A ports run at 5 Gbps, joined by an SD reader, Ethernet and audio. Operation and build quality were good.

Kensington SD5760T — the former luxury pick supplies 96 W, up to 40 Gbps through Thunderbolt 4, two HDMI 2.0 outputs at 4K 60 Hz and enough video connections for three 4K monitors, but its 22.5 × 8.5 × 2 cm body occupies more desk space than the Ugreen luxury recommendation. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Kensington SD4781P — DisplayLink drove two monitors over USB-A, albeit without high refresh rates or direct laptop charging, while USB-C adds 100 W Power Delivery; two HDMI and two DisplayPort outputs reach 4K 60 Hz, and data ports comprise USB-C and USB-A at 10 Gbps plus four USB-A at 5 Gbps, with no card reader. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Ablewe 8-in-1 Hub — a curved case that rocked on the desk and a 14 cm cable held back its three 5 Gbps USB-A ports, HDMI 1.4, 104 Mbps card readers and Gigabit Ethernet. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Anker 555 A8383 — this former recommendation charges a laptop at up to 85 W and has USB-C plus two USB-A ports at 10 Gbps, Ethernet, both card readers, audio and one HDMI output, though its plastic shell marked readily. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen2 — four USB ports, including one USB-C, run at 10 Gbps, with two slower USB ports, HDMI 2.0, two DisplayPort Dual-Mode outputs, audio and Ethernet; the included supply helps, but there is no card reader and the case is bulky. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Belkin Thunderbolt 4 Dock Pro — Thunderbolt 4 brings high overall bandwidth and the dock is well built, but USB tops out at 5 Gbps, there is no microSD reader, and its glossy panels collect fingerprints. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Digitus DA-70868 — this laptop wedge fits machines up to 14 inches and includes VGA, but 4K output stops at 30 Hz, no USB port reaches 10 Gbps, and Power Delivery was unreliable with the test laptop. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Dockteck DD0015 — compact and light, with one HDMI 2.0 monitor output, two USB-A ports at 5 Gbps, SD and microSD readers and Ethernet, but little connection headroom. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Baseus WKWG060013 — two HDMI 1.4 outputs, three USB-A ports capped at 5 Gbps, an SD reader and Ethernet are paired with a cable-storage slot, but the cable is only 17.5 cm and the status light is conspicuous. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Novoo 11-in-1 Docking Station — a braided lead and three video outputs — two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4 — looked promising, but measured Power Delivery was unreliable and USB speed topped out at 5 Gbps. Search Amazon UK · Search Amazon US

Verdict

The Anker 565 A8388 is the default choice because its fast USB-A and USB-C ports, dual 4K 60 Hz video outputs, card readers, network and audio cover the broadest everyday setup in a compact body. Choose the Baseus 10-in-1 Hub for 4K 120 Hz over HDMI, the Ugreen Revodok Max 213 for Thunderbolt 4, the Hama 200139 when a stand is part of the brief, or the Ugreen 80133 when VGA is indispensable. In every case, the host computer's USB-C capabilities set the final data, charging and display limits.
